Kenneth M. Petersen, MD, FACS, a highly respected general surgepn who has served the Lexington community for thirty years, has joined the LexMedical physician group. His practice is now a part of Lexington Surgical Associates, and he will continue to serve patients at his office located at 5 Medical Park Drive.
The addition of Dr. Petersen gives LexMedical the opportunity to expand its general surgical services in support of community needs, and it also provides additional clinical office space to facilitate the introduction of other surgically related services. In addition, Dr. Petersen will be a member of the physician team providing professional services at the newly opened Wound Care Center of Lexington Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Petersen is certified by the American Board of Surgery. As a general surgeon he specializes in surgical procedures of the abdominal organs, intestines, esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. He also provides physician care for diseases involving the skin, breast and hernias.
LexMedical has offices in Lexington, North Davidson and Salisbury. Professional services offered by the group include primary care, obstetrics, gyneclogy, general and vascular surgery, orthopedics, ear, nose and throat, gastroenterology, pathology, urgent care and occupational medicine.
