Physician Extender(s).  MedChoice Urgent Care Center.  Lexington, NC.  PRN Opportunities.  We're offering flexible staffing options and competitive pay rates for Physician Extenders to provide relief coverage on Saturdays & Sundays.  Saturday hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday hours are 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.

Physician Extenders will practice in an Urgent Care setting providing urgent care, occupational medicine and family services.  Specific functions include:  conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ordering and scheduling laboratory studies, collecting and documenting data and prescribing necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.

Minimum qualifications include:  completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant Program, current North Carolina license or certification and one to two years of previous work experience in a family practice or urgent care setting. 

 

 

Physical Therapist - PRN

Description:
Physical Therapist - PRN Opportunity.  Rehabilitation Services Department.  Incumbent should be able to work 10 to 15 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays.  Primary focus is outpatient.  Incumbent will work within Lexington Memorial Hospital and also at our satellite office located on Hickory Tree Road in northern Davidson County, NC.

The Licensed Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluation and/or treatment of any person when so ordered by a Physician, Dentist or Podiatrist.  Treatment is provided through the employment of physical means such as therapeutic exercise, heat, water, electricity, massage, ultrasound and the use of rehabilitative procedures and devices.  A Licensed Physical Therapist is responsible for the performance of specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teaching physical therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel.

Minimum qualifications include:  graduate of an accredited curriculum in Physical Therapy (B.S. or M.A.), and licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the state of North Carolina with current licensure.

   

 

Clinical Educator

Clinical Educator.  Education Department.  Full-time Position.  Incumbent will generally work five 8-hour shifts per week.  Primary work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., although, applicants must be flexible to work some evenings, nights and weekends as required to provide classes to various shifts.

The role of the Clinical Educator is that of a resource, role model, and change agent who positively influences the quality and delivery of patient care at Lexington Memorial Hospital; assists and supports the Education Director in developing departmental goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies and procedures; assists in organizing the department in accordance with administration guidelines in order to provide specified education services to meet the legal, organizational, medical and ethical staff guidelines.

Minimum qualifications include:  Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required, Master's Degree is preferred.  Current North Carolina Registered Nursing license is required.  BLS, ACLS and PALS Provider Certifications are required.  BLS, ACLS and/or PALS Instructor Certifications are preferred.  Applicants should have a minimum of three to five years of broad-based nursing experience in the acute care setting.  Applicants with previous teaching or clinical education experience are preferred.   

 

 

Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse.  Emergency Department.  Full-time Position.  Incumbent will work three 12-hour shifts per week.  Work schedule is 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.  Position includes working every third Saturday and Sunday and participating in our holiday rotation schedule.

The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for direct and indirect nursing care of patients.  She/he is also responsible for the direction and supervision of personnel assigned to her/him.

Minimum qualifications include:  graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and current North Carolina Registered Nurse license.  Applicants should have a minimum of one (1) year of previous Registered Nursing experience in the acute care setting.  BLS and ACLS certifications are required.  Previous professional Registered Nursing experience in an Emergency Department is preferred.   

 

Sleep Lab Technician(s)

Sleep Lab Technician(s).  PRN Opportunities.  Applicants should be flexible to work one night shift per week on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday.  Work schedule is 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

The Sleep Lab Technician provides diagnostic sleep disordered breathing tests, education and therapeutic CPAP to adolescent, adult and older adult patients.

Minimum qualifications include:  licensure by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board, BCLS certification and RPSGT certification.  Additionally, applicants should have a minimum of one year of previous professional experience in Sleep Medicine.  

 

 

Coding Specialist

Coding Specialist.  LexMedical Pediatrics.  Full-time Position.  Incumbent will generally work five 8-hour shifts per week.  Work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays.  Later evening hours may be required during monthly closings.

The Coding Specialist is responsible for correct ICD-9 and CPT coding of all office visits and procedures performed by all Providers and technicians within the practice.  Additionally, our Coding Specialist will assist with coding surgeries and obstetrics.  Our Coding Specialist will also help answer our billing telephone line and billing questions from staff. 

Minimum qualifications include:  high school graduate or equivalent.  Completion of a Coding and Medical Billing curriculum is preferred.  Computer and software literate.  Thorough understanding of CPT and ICD-9 coding.  Applicants must have a minimum of two (2) years of previous professional experience in medical office billing and insurance.   

 

Obstetrics Technician

Obstetrics Technician.  Obstetrics Department.  Part-time Position.  Around 24 hours per week.  Incumbent will work three to four 12-hour shifts during our bi-weekly payroll period.  Position includes working every third Saturday and Sunday.  Work schedule is 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

The Obstetrics Technician is responsible for providing direct and indirect care to patients which is supportive to the care given by the Obstetrical Team.  She/he functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Minimum qualifications include:  high school graduate or equivalent.  Completion of a certified Nursing Aide 1 training program and listed with the Division of Facility Services.  CPR Certification.  Computer and software literate.  Good interpersonal skills.  Applicants should have a minimum of one (1) year of previous professional Nursing Assistant experience.  Previous Nursing Assistant experience working with obstetrical/nursery patients is preferred.

 

 

Emergency Department Reimbursement Technician(s)

Emergency Department Reimbursement Technician(s).  Patient Accounts Department.  PRN Opportunities.  Applicants should be able to work on weekdays as well as on Saturdays and Sundays.  Shifts may be 8 or 12 hours depending on the day needed.  Work schedule is flexible and may include:  7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., or 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Reimbursement Technician is responsible for evaluating Emergency Department patient records and assigning patient care and departmental charges as appropriate to include facility service charges.  Additionally, she/he will ensure that bills submitted to third-party payors portray accurate charges to enhance revenue recovery.

Minimum qualifications include:  high school graduate or equivalent.  Computer and software literate.  Good interpersonal communication skills.  Legible handwriting.  Knowledge of medical terminology.  Applicants should have a minimum of one (1) year of previous professional work experience in the health care setting.
